any one know what this is?

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I believe this is blooming at the wrong time of the year but it was a nice surprise amongst all the dead frozen plants in my yard. Does it look familiar to anyone?

Jeanne I just planted this one I think in Sept. Do I need to cut it back?

Marie.Clematis "Ramona" is a pruning group 2...but .I treat my Pruning group 2's just like a 3 the first year because it will help it grow a better root system and for the future longevity of the vine..come this late winter/early spring ..hard prune it about an inch above the first leaf axil and fertilize and toss on a couple inches of compost on top ..keep away from the vine.water well and it will grow beautifully for you this coming year and from then on treat her like a pruning group 2....Jeanne

Marie...then you'll enjoy "Clematis on the Web" or as we call it "COTW"... it's our Clematis Bible
http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/
Make sure and use the Clematis A-Z and the search function ..you can research Clematis by color, bloom period, certain height, variety...when wanting to read up on a certain clematis to know the pruning type just click on clematis A-Z and click on the Letter that is the first letter in the name of the Clematis ..then scroll to find it and click on it to read about it...tons of info on this site...enjoy....Jeanne

Marie: I'd say you were mighty lucky to have this beauty blooming in December! Besides the lovely flower, aren't the seedheads very interesting?

Jeanne: Your Clematis/Rose combos always have me drooling and wanting to see more of your beautiful garden!

Shirley I agree. If you could see the nuclear blast that the rest of the yard looks like (got hit with an extreme freeze)
it definetly wasa blessing.

Point Richmond, CA(Zone 10b)

This is a clematis which started to bloom about two weeks ago and is quite perfumy - since this is February it is not an Autumn flowering clematis and this is blooming on a "trunk' which bloomed last summer and it was blue !
Anybody ?
