Foxtail Fern

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Believe I rescued one out of the trash today, would like to know how fast ...... or slow LOL do these grow.

How much sun can they take?
I'm located in Florida .... suns pretty strong here.

Does this look like one ?
or is it something else.

anyone have any suggestions on how to best bring this beauty back to life?
it seems to be jammed tightly in this pot and is half dead with something else growing in the pot
not sure if its a weed or a tree. LOL Can I divide this into several plants?

Plan to take it out of pot tomorrow any help would be appreciated

Thanks
GG

Guardan Girl,

This is not a real fern, but an Asparagus.
It can take some sun but too much of it can cause yellowing of the leaves.
I found this link in DG plant files:

Darn thought it was a foxtail.

Its popular name is Foxtail Fern!
Its Latin name ; Asparagus densiflorus 'Meyersii'.
If you keep it in a pot and remove the seeds that looks like small red berries, it cannot become a plague! And it is a beautiful plant if well taken care off.

oooooooooooohhhhhhhh lol

See that's whats wrong with common names.

I have to stop depending on that.

When I looked up the name and saw several things come up I thought one was different than the other because I saw two different pictures. and one looks totally different .

Live and learn. LOL

Thankies much.
