I bought this impatiens at a nursery that had no identification for it. When in bloom, it has these fantastic fan tail goldfish looking flowers that are about 1.5" long. The stems are a very attractive maroonish color. One of the most interesting aspects of this plant is the bright pink vein that runs down the center of a dark green, velvety leaf. Anyone know what cultivar or species this impatiens might be?
Impatiens ID?

Your impatiens looks like 'impatiens velvetea'. Lots of good photos and information if you do a google search.
Here's a link to one in DG plant files.

From my Google search, it seems that it is I. velvetea. It has been a very satisfying houseplant as well as a garden plant. It has alwass garners many ooo's and ahh's from the people who see it.
I wonder where seed could be bought, or the plants for that matter.
