Ol' Clyde da Cajun Mule

Dis young couple was travelin' tru Terrebonne Parish on dey way to Raceland when it come up a big rain.

Dey lil' cah pass stuck in da deep mud in da road. Dey mos' concern cuz dey was expected in Raceland fo' suppa.

Wudn't long fo' dey seen a lil' blurry object way in da distant, clip clop, clip clop.

It come closa an' lo' an' behol' it was Bouvais wit his ol' mule Clyde.

Dey got out an' axe him bout hep'n dem out da mud. He say, "sho'",an' unhitch ol' Clyde.

He tru a line over da hood and fasten' dat cross ol' Clyde's ches'.

He go roun' back o' him an' holla, " Pull Jimmie, Pull !" Den he holla, " Pull Rosie, Pull !"

Finally he holla, " Pull Clyde, Pull ol' man!" Ol' Cylde jomp an' drag dat cah out da mud in two secon'.

Dat young couple was so t'ankful fo' dat but dey axe Bouvais why he call dat mule by t'ree different names.

" Oh, well, " say Bouvais, "ol' Clyde blind as a bat an' if he t'ought he was da only one pullin' he wouldn't even try."
