Befaria Racemosa - Tar Flower?

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Do any of you in this forum grow Befaria Racemosa or commonly called tar flower? I wouldn't mind giving it a try but don't know if it is even available. If so, is it propagated by seed, cuttings, divisions?

Anyone have some knowledge to share on this plant? TIA pod

I've never heard of it.....beautiful bloom!

Hmmm. It may not reach up into Ga. I was hoping someone was familiar with it. The Fla folks say it grows as a wildflower in the northern part of Fla. It may not want to be in my area either! : )) Thanks for your response... pod

I've never heard of it either but from the plant file it should grow here. I have hot, acidic, sandy soil. I have some dry spots. Hmmm. It might not like my fungus enriched air though, LOL.

Fungus enriched air ~ At some times of year I can truly appreciate that statement. But how different can your area be from Florida? pod http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/678329/
