Hey! A wonderful thing happened last month. A motorist misssed a right turn and took out the retaining wall between my front yard and the sidewalk. It was an old, ugly wall, surrounding my ugly, plain, grass front yard. Now that I am getting a new wall, I want to redo everything in the front yard. I have a 5 ft embankment between the road and the sidewalk, covered with spreading junipers, ivy, moss verbena, and mondo grass. It looks nice and is easy to maintain. Everything that goes beyond the boundary gets cut off! There will be a 18-36 inch high wall of gray landscape stone forming the edge of the front yard right behind the sidewalk. The front yard is level and faces north, with a large magnolia on the west side. I am trying to eliminate most of the grass, but am not sure what to plant since everything viewed from the front will be seen looking up. Any ideas? I live in west central Georgia between Columbus and Americus.
