forsythia

Mid-Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5b)

Drove one hour south of my home yesterday and saw forsythia bushes in bloom. I'm curious. Do they bloom twice?

I saw them in northern Ct too. I suspect it's this crazy warm weather we're having that's causing them to bloom a bit. But to answer your question: no, they don't bloom twice! But I doubt it will have a huge effect on their spring blooming- unless it stays as warm as it has been for another solid week or so. Then there could be a problem.

Anita had been mentioning the same thing on another thread on this forum. It's weird!

Wierd? I have hollyhocks trying to bloom. But I betcha that hard frost this morning taught them a thing or two about premature blooming!

Tell me about it. I had an Iris in bloom!
