Surprise!

I was taking out the trash a minute ago and glanced at my cluster of flower pots by the front door and my linaria reseeded and I now have a little potful with little magenta and yellow blossoms! My unnamed clematis was still blooming too. I started looking around at the other assorted pots and a mini dahlia is leafing out and it looks like one of the lily pots is full of seedlings. The weather here is so ridiculous!

What a nice surprise! It's always fun to find something unexpected blooming.

Yeah, I loved those linaria. I bought a 4 or 6 in pot in the spring and kept them sheared after each flush of flowers and managed to have it flower until late Sept/early Oct. I had bought some seed for wintersowing so I didn't bother to collect seed from it and I guess it went to great use:)
