Satsuma help

Lake Charles, LA

My ten year old tree was loaded with small sweet fruit last year. It was a dry year and the tree liked it.

This year the fruit is really large and sparse . They are as big as oranges and very watery. It has rained a lot and I wonder if that is the reason for the funny fruit.

How should the tree be pruned? My husband just lops off the top after the fruit is finished. and we never fertilize. Should we?

Any tips? thanks in advance, Dogwood

I'm not sure, I have several young satsuma trees though..owari's actually, how long did it take them to bear fruit?

I've seen citrus (including Satsumas) in 15 gal pots at the nursery which have fruit on the, so I don't think they have to be very big.

One of the things I hated about moving from California to Texas was having to leave my dwarf citrus behind. Dwarf citrus are almost impossible to find here. ManicReality's Sasumas are probably standard trees which will be larger in size before it produces fruit.
