What can anyone tell me about Akita's

I was on pet finder's and found 2 different Akita's. The female is a 6-7 month mix-spayed-and has been an outside dog. Suppost to be good with kids and other dogs.

The other is a 5 yr. old male raised in a puppy mill and used. He was bought at auction and is in a shelter. They are working with him. Consider him crate trained. Walks on a leash good. Was terrified of everything. Cringes like he has been beaten or hit. They say he is a sweetheart.

Can anybody tell me more about this beautiful breed from experience?

I'd like to go and look at the female tomorrow. She's only 45 minutes away. If I have to I can wait until Sat. If she is still available. I know she just came in because she wasn't listed yesterday.
