Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

This is the first season for 'Girenas' to bloom. Hoping the color will even be more intense when I have it sited in full sun.

Does anyone else have Clematis blooms this late in the season? Please post them.

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Shirley!!..How gorgeous..I do so love seeing those dark purplish-red Anthers!!...That is a delicious Clematis...reminds me alot of the one I bought that is suppose to be called "Fireworks"....Nice to see Clematis still blooming in your zone..Jeanne

Thanks so much Jeanne. Yes, 'Fireworks' does look very similar to 'Girenas', but since I don't have 'Fireworks' in my garden, I'm glad I have 'Girenas'. Lets hope for even more vivid coloring next Summer!

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

My "Elsa Spath" is blooming away. It is unbelievable considering we've (Pittsburgh, Pa) had several killing frosts! It's so nice to see some color so late in the year.

Please post a picture mar110 of "Elsa Spath". Clematis can look so different from season to season and from juvenile age to maturity.

Denver, CO

'Girenas' is interesting, I've not seen that before. Bars are nice.

We're having frost every night, 27F or so, but Clem. c. 'Freckles' doesn't seem to care at all. In fact, the flowers are larger than they were in summer.

'Freckles' is a charmer and certainly lives up to its name! What a trooper that it still is blooming through those frosty cold nights!
