Can anyone identify the bird who dropped this feather on our property? The feather is about 8-3/4" long. I'm guessing a raptor, possibly an owl since we sometimes hear a bird calling late at night with a call that sounds like variations on a "who" theme. Any help welcome, and thanks!
CLOSED: Bird ID from feather?
Not an owl, they have feathers with a very 'fluffy' texture (to allow them to fly silently with no wing noise).
My suggestion would be a tail feather from a Cooper's Hawk.

Interesting, resin, and thanks. I was also thinking tail feather, and we do have Cooper's hawks in this area, though I've not seen one.
Wow Resin, that's an amazing identification!
