Anyone growing henna?

Nevada, TX(Zone 8a)

I was given a gift of henna, (lawsonia inermis), by someone who knows I love fragrant plants. I am in zone 8a so I am sure I will have to keep it in a pot. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience growing this. Sun or shade, damp or dry, acid or not? Any input would be greatly appreciated. :>)

try this for some info. If we can grow it successfully here, I would think you could also

hey_jude, Thanks for the link. I see it doesn't like heavy or moist soil, (keep it out of my heavy clay.) Heat and drought tolerant, good. Seems to some debate as to whether the flowers are scented or just the leaves. I will have to wait and see.

Keep us posted, it should prove interesting if not attractive.
