West Pottsgrove, PA(Zone 6b)

My favorite is a Veronica that came as a weed in a different plant I bought. It looked so good I wanted to eat it. Can't figure out what kind it is, though. I couldn't find any seeds but it managed to spread anyway.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I'll only pick 2 - I think that's good.

certainly coneflowers are a favorite, my favorite of them this year was Fatal Attraction

Here's one of my pick's
Salvia guaran. Purple Majesty

No, I wish I did. The flower head was about 3" diameter and 5" tall, kind of barrel shaped. That salvia's a great color!

Donna in Douglas, GA(Zone 8b)

I'll keep a watch for that Veronic!

I'll stay out of any invasive arguements.

Certainly harder to find plants or natives would set you apart from a lot of sellers. I go to a LOT of plant sellers and the word gets around who has the best selection.

here's one not for sale in this state - "Henry Eihler's' rudbeckia

Geez, you guys and gals are light years ahead of me -- I've heard of all the plants -- Daisy, Rudbeckia, Salvia, Echinacea, but I have never HEARD of the varieties! 'Highland Dream' is a Dream & 'Henry Eihler's' is so unusual I'd never guess it was a rudbeckia!

i'm embarrassed to say my favorite perennial is one I've had for over 20 years. I guess it got renamed Thalictrum roch__ something. LOL. Call it Lavender Mist Meadow Rue. Sorry about the picture -- I've posted it a million times, the plant in question is the tall six-footer on the right growing in way more shade than it would prefer.

I do love my Purple Cone Flowers. They never fail to bloom and even give a little beauty in the winter with there dried seed heads. I have some Pale Purple Cone Flowers too that are pretty.

grampapa,
your right about next years list, I'm sure is getting long!

Ok lets say a favorite could be
WELL BEHAVE perennial,
That you love the color
It's not to fussy
The bugs don't bother it!

One of mine would be
madrensis Forsythia Sage

I just let it go & grow! Though I should support it,
use large looper when cutting back, it had a Big stem!
Great fall blooms - butteflies & hummer's seen to enjoy
it too!
