Favorite Caudiciform

Yardley, PA

I love hearing about people's favorite plants so I can find out what I should buy. It is really a hard decision but I have always been partial to my Calibanus Hookeri. Probably because it is one of my first caudiciforms which was probably 7 years ago and it is very difficult to kill.

neat!
How large is the caudex?

The caudex is about 9" wide. I bought it on the big side. I don't remember how big it was when I bought it.

That is a nice size. It is always a good thing if you can say - " it is hard to kill".

I have a "baby" one of these....they achieve a huge caudex, and as you can start to tell on your plant, they send up new shoots on the same caudex...can live to, oh, I'd say 50+ years? yours's is a nice plant
