"Flags of Our Fathers"

I'd like to encourage people, whether they enjoy war movies or not, to see Clint Eastwood's newest project, "Flags of Our Fathers". It is based on the true story of the U.S. Marines in Iwo Jima and the stories of three soldiers in the famous photograph of the flag raising at Iwo Jima. Not too many movies this year have been worth my time, but "Flags" left me deeply touched and grateful to those who sacrificed so much.

A lot of junk is in the theaters now, but this is a movie you will want to see on a big screen. A warning though: there's the usual war gore, but nothing gratuitous.
