I found this plant blowing around a parking lot next to a nursery south of Salt Lake City, Utah. Nobody at the nursery had any idea what it is. The sample in the photo is about 3 inches long. It dries and becomes brittle, but rehydrates quickly when it touches water. The color remains constant. My wife thinks it's an alien life-form...
