PudgyMudpies - That's the flower!! I hate it when I can't think of a name. Must be the age thing creeping up on me - see the new poll. thanks a million!!!!!

LOL you are welcome, glad I got the right one. There are 2 ipomoeas that have that same flower, one has the fern leaf and the other has the heart-shaped leaf. I can never keep them straight and could only remember cardinal climber, so glad thats yours! :~)

We've got that one solved and I don't know how to post "solved "....

Ann, I think "solved" can only be selected in the Plant ID forum. Just like, "closed" can only be selected in the coop, plant and seed trading forums.

Hey Ann,
it was bugging me so I went into plantfiles and did a search on ipomoea and I found the other with the heart-shaped leaves, http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/51759/index.html but also found out there is another with the fern leaf, so maybe yours is not cardinal climber after all, but really Cypress Vine! http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/93/index.html
What do you think?

PM, you are too kind. It's definitely the Cypress Vine. It will grow where I don't want it but It's easy to pull out. I know that you feel better having defined it for yourself. thanks a bunch!!

plantladyhou, got any of the cypress vine seeds that you are bringing with you Sat?

Katy, TX(Zone 8b)

IF and that's a big IF I get to come, I will definitely bring some but there aren't too many but I will gladly give anyone who wants some, some. IF I come I am also bringing some BIG cuttings from my plumeria - a unknown pale pink that has bloomed beautifully for me. Just cut that sucker down from 8" to 4" so I mean BIG. The rest of the cuttings I sent to Fla. to get them out of the way. I only have some Katie Ruella and if I can find them, some Pride of Barbados seeds. That's I F I get to come. Hopefully -

Glad this thread was solved properly. The Cypress Vine and Cardinal Climber are
always mixed up, though they look different.

Cypress Vine seeds look like tiny mouse droppings while the Cardinal
Climber look like standard Morning Glory seeds.

:-)
