Help!! What's eating my Rhody's??

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

I planted this rhododendron this past spring, and it's been doing very well. But just the last week or two I noticed these brown patches, and the hole in one of next spring's flower buds.

It almost looks like something is eating the outer green part of the leaf and leaving the inner 'skeleton'.

What is it, and how can I stop it immediately?? (I'm in Pgh. PA, zone 6.)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheryl ..

It appears that there may could be two separate lil boogers .. busily at work on your rhodies!

See .. if this particular thread lends any aid to you. Here > http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/608358/

The 3rd photo looks maybe like leaf miners???

Thank you both for your help.

Further research definitely indicates leafminers, but there are so many diffferent kinds?! I'm gonna try that soapy solution from the thread you posted, Magpye.

I've also contacted & sent pics to my local extension agency, so I'll report back if & when I hear from them.

Why can't the little beasties pick on WEEDS??? :-(
