???
Digging around yesterday a bit, there seems to be quite a variability in the shape of the leaves on this plant. And the leaves are fragrant when crushed.
I read the now informative thread about this plant at the C&S forum.
I was wondering if you saw the links here? Looking through my books and googling it, I saw several different leaf shapes on Bursera fagaroides, it seems to look like a different plant every time. And the first link I gave in my above post lists the leaf forms.
Hello RUK,
The leaves of the Bursera fagaroides here http://www.bihrmann.com/caudiciforms/subs/bur-fag-sub.asp are somewhat similar to the ones on my plant. However, the colour underneath the peeling, reddish brown bark ist not grey-green but light brown.
I have been in contact with a knowledgeable person who suggested it might be a cross between a Commiphora africana and some other species. The person had never incountered such a plant before.
Best regards,
Martin
Martin,
thanks. Looking up a lot of plants is always a fun and educational thing.
