I put in some Sunflowers this year and love them but now the flowers are done and I was wondering when to pick the seeds to have more next year before the birds and squirrels get them all. I will leave some for them but want to plant more next year. Do I pick the flowers now? and take the seeds? Or do I leave them be until they fall out?
Thanks
Here is a photo of them in bloom.
Sunflower Question
Pick them now, put the seed heads in a paper bag and forget about them until about the first of the year. They will be dry and can easily be taken from the seed head. Good luck with them.
Thanks so much for the info, I should have enough for anyone who wants some.
:-)
