look what I found on my thunbergia!

Or beside it, rather. This is hanging on the fence among the thunbergia vines. I think it is a chrysalis.....is this correct?

Do you have any passion vines nearby? It looks like a Gulf Fritillary butterfly chrysalis.

Thanks for the ID! I actually do have several passi vines on the fence, and my Lady Lavender is nearby with some vines creeping into and mingling with the thunbergia. I have seen a bounty of gulf fritillary butterflies this summer, I'm so glad one of the caterpillars chose my fence for the rest of it's cycle. I am going to keep a close eye on this one.
