Dye Inks for decorating Gourds

I had read that dye inks are used to decorate gourds. I have tons of colors as I use dye inks in my rubber stamping projects. Is this the same type of ink? Does anyone use dye ink?

My DD and I use Leather Dye on some of ours...there is an Apple Gourd here somewhere that I used Leather Dye on...it turned out really nice....but I would think you could use your dye. Try it and let us know. Inquiring Gourd Minds want to know! LOL Jo
