The color is pretty good except it is perhaps a bit more 'mauvey' than this shows..
This is an old clematis, 'rescued' from an old house nearby, said to be purple so I thought it would be a Jackmanii since that is the most common one around here. It never flowered for the past 3 years and suddenly this fall it has had 3 flowers.
Just curious if anybody happens to be able to identify it. There are over 3000 clematis now I understand so my chances of finding it are probably slim!

No ideas here but it sure is beautiful.
Loove that flower! I have a "Mr. President" that surprised me by blooming a month after I bought it. Instead of being mauvy as pictured, the flowers were definitely blue/purple so go figure ....
