Beautyberry

Farmville, NC

Has anyone had success rooting a cutting from a wild Beautyberry bush?

New Bern, NC(Zone 8a)

See the thread I started in Indigeneous Plants (Beautyberry and Intro)...last active October 1, 2006.

Haven't tried rooting any, but my transplants are all doing well.

Farmville isn't that far from me (Fairfield Harbour in New Bern)...there is still the "Big Boy" at the end of my cul-de-sac, and a couple of other small offshoots.

Let me know if you're interested.

just stick a limb in the ground(still attached to the mother plant) and put a rock on it to hold it down to the ground put dirt on it and leave it there until spring, then check and see if you have roots if not then leave it until it does

They grow very esily from seeds. Just collect the berries and plant a few .

I have lots of berrys if you need them, let me know. I am leaving for Ga in the AM but can mail them out when I get back.

Or can mail them Monday if you respond tonight before 9.

Thanks for all the good advice. I can try all the ways that each of you suggested. The bush that I took cuttings from is in the woods behind my house. The cuttings are not doing so well. I think I'll try collecting some of the berries before trying the other metthods. I can plant them in my greenhouse.

Thanks again!
