I have no pic...

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

I have no picture, but when I went out yesterday to weed my back beds, there was some type of "ground cover" covering every inch of dirt! (I did not mulch that bed!!) It lies VERY flat and has little-bitty leaves, almost round. It spreads out on runners and has no part that extends above about 1/4 inch! Does this harm other plants? I was able to use my little garden rake and just about "rake" it all up...pretty easily..the roots are very shallow but it seems fragile and I"m sure a lot of roots remained underground!!

Someone here may know, but if not you could try posting in the TX gardening forum or the Invasives forum, maybe you'll have better luck. Or even ID forum, folks over there are pretty good at ID'ing things even without a picture.

Connie - Sounds like spurge to me. It is so easy to overlook, and then all of a sudden they seem to be everywhere. Here's a good Texas weed site:

Thanks, both. I looked at the weed link and it's none of those. I'll try to post a pic here....

Great!! This is the one I'm familiar with too. Can't believe how many of them I overlook when I'm weeding. Either that, or they grow a mile a minute! LOL
