I don't know if this one is a Blue Orpington or Blue Jersey Giant? Her legs are smooth and grayish or bluish to me..about 6 months old...Help?
Need ID of this hen..
looks orpington to me
If you want ,I'm going to a show in Rochester tomorrow
I can print out the picture and ask the jersey and orp breeders what they think
Sure cuz I would like to name her and wanted to know what breed she is...Thank you very much..wish I could go to poultry shows...none way down here in my neck of the woods...
what part of TX are you in?
I get publications that list shows from all over the country.
I'd love to see you show those Cochins
I have some but don't show them
I have NEVER seen the Golden laced at a show
Yours are wonderful
Crestchik, I live way day here by Houston, Texas..Don't ask me to go to the Houston Livestock & Rodeo show cuz it is way too big and boring..lol..I was born and raised in Houston...I know there is a fair going on in Beaumont, Texas but not too much for poultry...I would love to attend a show ...sigh...
By the way, I wouldn't know a thing or two about showing chickens...rather somebody else do it for me..lol...maybe like a kid who loves to do it..Our 4-H group here does mainly pigs and calves...Checked that out already..no luck there..
Thank yu for the comments...

You might be surprised at what you find in Texas. Here in NH there is a big NH poultry fancier's show every year ( who knew, right?) and I'm going for the first time next weekend! I had no idea that existed until I went to a fair where someone mentioned it.
This is what I found for texas when I googled it. I hope that something is close to you!

( scroll to texas)
Has lots of states, so everyone could check it out.
The only one is Beaumont, Texas..gonna go to see what that one is all about..two are far north of me..
I checked, and there IS a blue Jersey Giant!!! I stand corrected! sorry!
I had looked in my Hobby Farmer magazine, and there was a story
about the Jersey giants and a pix of one. Sure looks like her.
Mine have blue jean dark legs : ))))
Some have big red combs and some don't have no combs. I hope
that doesn't mean we have to eat the no comb ones. I think I read
if they don't have them, they are not laying. Maybe I could pump
the chickens up with a bicycle pump and push out their combs?
Just kidding!
I saw there is a lot of blue chickens. All different kinds.
they are all beautiful.
Sheri
LOLOL..using an airpump to pump up their combs..lol
Checked it the show and from the picture most breeders said its a blue orp
No one thought it was a jersey giant
some thought it was a blue cochin with the wrong tail cause the picture kinda looks like there are feathers on the legs
