Eskimo Sunset maple

Youngstown, OH

Hi, I would like to know how much direct sun this maple can take without burning? I live in Ohio, which is zone 6.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Here's your answer. It will burn in afternoon sun. Pretty tree. But boy will it get big! I don't know how you keep from getting afternoon sun for a 30 - 40 foot tree.

It is a nice lookin tree as Doss says .... looks to be a bit twiggy when young but neat coloration ...hope it's sycamore name only is becuase of leaf shape...the word sycamore really should be SICKAMORE ;>) that is one SICK tree ( sycamore) and should be avoided at all cost .... trash on a trunk is a good description ...David

Don't have to worry. The Eskimo sycamore maple is Acer pseudoplatanus and the "sickamore" is Platanus occidentalis. I think that you're safe on this one, Butch as long as you have the space for it.
