I learned Something

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

One of my Pitcher Plants spends the summer hanging in a tree in the front yard. I had noticed that it was trying to climb the tree as it grew. I noticed today that it is attaching itself to the limbs of the tree.

It is attaching itself by wrapping the section at the end of the leaf where the pitcher forms around the branch.

This may be something that everyone except me has seen, but I thought it was interesting. This is a close up showing how it is wrapping around the tree limb.

Hey that's cool! I just got a pitcher plant like that for my birthday. I have the other kind that grow in the ground - hooded pitchers and such. I was going to hang my new one in a tree so I'll have to see if I can get it to attach as well. Neat! Thanks for sharing.

Oh wow, that's really neat. I knew they would climb but I've never seen one. I never thought about how they would either. That pitcher is really nice as well.

Thank You
Shame just when it is getting pretty I have got to take it inside. LOL

One of these days I have got to move way down south.
