Puddy Tat's not living up to my expectatons. Is it for you?

Disclaimer: I think highly of MidAmerica, I have many of their intros and love them......not trying to badmouth anyone here. I bought Puddy Tat the year it was introduced, got spectacular first year blooms, and have been less and less impressed with it ever since. The sharpness of the color seems to be fading a bit each year, and the rhizomes, unlike every other MidAmerica one I've ever had, are not very vigorous at all. Because of the number of iris I grow and because I have each iris in more than one location, I'm leaning toward blaming the cultivar and not the cultivation. A few growers here in the Mid Atlantic area have shared the same experience with me. Has anyone else had PuddyTat for a few years, and if so, what's your experience with it? I'm wondering if it's just one of those that doesn't do well in the East.
