Is it still too warm to start spinach/broccoli seed (indoors) in zone 9a? The heat's starting to taper off a bit now, but I could wait a couple of weeks if needed... thanks!
Too early for cool weather crops in z9?
I planted chard, dill, cilantro, lettuce and radishes a couple of weeks ago - all up a couple of inches - need to thin this weekend. Looking for 1015 onion sets, and red cabbage.
Probably will plant mustard, too.
I think we should be okay this year - the weather seems like it's cooling off quicker than it did last fall... I just started some broccoli & spinach seeds, am planning on sowing some onion sets tonight after work... good times!
Hey ya'll!
I'm in Houston, near Hobby Airport. Just found you Houstonian/Mo City people! I'm a newbie to veggie gardening, and will be building 10 homemade Earthboxes (HEBs) to grow tomatoes in next season. I've been hanging out in the tomato and HEB forums. Do you grow tomatoes or squash in Houston?
Let me know what else you're planning to grow and when you start planting here. Thanks!
