Tall Stacks 2006 Riverboat Extravaganza Oct. 4-8 in Cincy!
Well, I hope everybody is going down to Tall Stacks 2006 this weekend!
We went Tuesday night to the Opening Party and it was lots of fun. Then we returned Thursday for the "One Beer, One Bourbon and One Scotch" Cruise on the General Jackson. Fun, too.
But today we went down and walked the levee on the Covington Newport KY side of the river. It was a fabulously beautiful day and we had the best time touring the 'Working' exhibits--we toured the Corps of Engineers dredging boats, we met the captains and cook of the pusher boats for the AEP coal barges, the Madison Coal and Supply pusher boat crew, and the Coast Guard crews and the crew of the WW2 Landing Craft.
And a few of the the steam driven paddlewheelers docked in Cincinnati for the festival.
I think there are nineteen paddle wheelers and several 'working' boats and barges open for tours, parties and events, along with many events especially for children.
We're going back tomorrow to see some of the musicians and stage performers.
ROTFL!
WE started at Schmit Field and ended in......drumroll please.............in the back of St. Rose's parking lot!
Got there about 3:30.
We were standing in the middle on the grass right behind the chairs.
(next to the guy making the weird noises)
I can NOT believe we didn't see you guys!
