I'd really like to try a small cutting garden next spring.
I loved my Californial Giants this year, but would appreciate any hints from those who have grown some of the different varieties out there.
Remember these are for cutting, so need to be longer stemmed.
Thanks,
sharon
Best Zinnias for cutting?
I recommend the Benary's Giants series. If you're a seedstarter, I also recommend Renee's Garden for two mixtures: Hot Crayon Colors and Cool Crayon Colors. I planted quite a few of these this year and all have done very well.
To ensure good results, I fertilized weekly with a water-soluble organic fertilizer and the plants grew quite tall (some are at 5 feet) with nice, long stems for cutting.
