CLOSED: Some sort of Scale

Columbus, OH(Zone 5b)

I know it's not part of the plant.
Any idea what it is?

It's kind of hard to judge the...SCALE from the photo... how big is it?

Hi Claypa,
Very tiny... here is another picture with a peppercorn to show the scale
I pulled them off the plant, it was juicy underneath the helmet like top

I find those here and there in my garden and have yet to ID them, they have always been hatched, so I don't get to collect them and see what comes out.

Awww katydids are cool. I don't see them too often, because the trees around our house are pretty tall and they mostly stay up there, but I hear them at night during the summer.

When they do venture down, they have to watch out for my cats if the cats are out for play time (I only let my cats out if I'm watching them). Katydids are such a favorite play toy that the cats recognize the buzzing noise they make and head right for them.

They are beautiful, but oh, what damage they do.
They will met certain doom if they go near my roses.
This one didn't live to regret it...
