Hi guys, I need your help in trying to figure out just exactly what this little green menace is... I have no idea what it is. The only reason I think it's related to corn is that it is more of a problem when I'm surrounded by corn fields and not bean fields.. Thanks for any information you can provide.

What is it? Corn Borer??
Nevermind, I've found out who my nemesis is. It's a Northern Corn Rootwoom Beetle. ISU says there isn't much to be done about them.... Oh well...

Yes, they are destroying my white dahlias and very light colored ones.
Do they rotate the crops near you? If they rotated corn out for 2 years all the rootworms would die off... of course, they could turn the farmland behind me into a housing development. Then I'd have different pests, two legged pests....

Not much rotation around here, I'm surrounded with 4 square miles of corn. soybeans and alfalfa. All are attractive to the beatles.
