Best green bean

Louisville, TN(Zone 7a)

I grew trellised pole beans, kentuky wonder, and bush snap stringless, can't remember the type. While i hated bending over to pick the bush beans, I liked not having that string. The pole beans seemed to have those beans inside much quicker and earlier than the other plus the strings. I did like that you could harvest 2 at a time, thats how most of them grew. What I want to know, I think I prefer to trellis, takes up less realestate, but want a great snap bean without the big seed inside. Anyone got ideas and also where to get them from? Is it too late, I am in 7a, to re-plant now? Help!!!

crazy, how long are you letting your beans grow before you harvest? We also grow kentucky wonder pole beans and some romanos that were supposed to be poles but turned out to be bushes. Out kws don't have a big bean inside because we pick them before they get that way.

Here are some links to other types of snap pole beans:

French Filet 'Haricot Verts' is supposed to be exceptionally good.

I've got 'Maxibel Haricot Vert' growing and it also had very positive reviews on the net.

Most are 50 to 60 days to maturity. I planted Maxibell mid July and I will be picking from it shortly.

They are a bush type however.

My favorite is McCaslan: an heirloom. Slender, tender bean that gets quite long. Slightly flattened, stringless when immature, two growing together as you describe.

some definitly are too mature, but for the most part, i get'em asap, its just that the bush beans have more "meat" to them and little to no seed inside. i just hate bending over for an hour!
