Hardy Hibiscus Reblooming

Anyone else getting full flush of second blooms on their Hardies?
My plant is 8-10 years old. I started it from a single stem cutting off a Friends beauty. It's about 5ft x 5ft spread.
I cut the plant back to 3ft x 3ft right after first flush is done, around the first of August,so it won't shade the sunloving friends on east side of it.
I was grooming the perennials close by this morning, when I noticed my Hibiscus is just covered with marble size buds.
We have had over 7 inches of rain this month, and first 2 weeks of Aug. were hotter than heck-s'pose that's why?
Any input would be appreciated.
