really basic question about patterns

Hi, I'm about as novice as you can get at this so this is probably pretty basic. I would like to do a mosaic of a particular pattern. I have the pattern printed out and taped together. How do I transfer that to the piece of wood that I'm going to use? I have seen on ebay they are selling Saral transfer paper that sounds like what I am looking for. Just draw over the lines. Is the best method to use? Any suggestions would be great.
