CLOSED: Something infests and destroys alyssum

Loomis, NE

Hi,
I have searched the forums and can't seem to find an answer to my question.
I'm from Ne. and when my alyssum plants are small and newly planted, something gets on them and either strips them of all their leaves or causes a disease that causes them to dry up and die. If I am diligent and keep them powered all the time until they are bigger they can usually make it, but if I slack off they are done for. Its hard to keep on top of them because of rains and watering and the such.
If I can get them to a mature stage, they do just beautifully, but its getting them there that is a big problem.
If anyone has any answers to this problem it would be greatly appreciated as they are one of my favorite flowering plants.
Thanks so much.

Try posting this in the Annual Forum, might get an answer there.

I have been sowing alyssum seeds instead of buying the plants, less work and less $$ but not an instant show. Never had any trouble like you describe.

Yes, I start my own seeds also plus buying them and it will happen to both.
Thanks, I will post under annuals.
