Texture - Part 2

White Lake, ON(Zone 4b)

Thought a fresh page was in order due to all the pics on the last thread 'Texture pics anyone?' found here: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/633683/

Please keep those texture pics coming! Flowers, foliage, fruits and seeds. Tell us what it is and the texture or what it reminds you of.

Examples from the previous thread:

What kind of texture is it? What does it look or feel like? lumpy, rubbery, whispy, velvety, spiky, smooth, soft, lacy, bumpy, feathery, fluffy, satiny, fuzzy, puffy, leathery, stringy.

Or,

What does it remind you of? blood vessels, Kleenex, birthday candles, plastic, teflon, string of lights, carpet, waterfall, drapes, powder puffs, hair, pincushion, tarantula, venetian blinds, bubble wrap, tissue paper, a muppet.

From the previous thread:

Best new word award goes to: (It's a tie!) dale_a_gardener for 'teflony' and grampapa for 'porky-piney'

Best question award goes to podster who asked "Is pretty a texture?" Awwwww..

Nancy, what kind of moss is that? looks neat?

Speaking of textures, My DH and I love them.
This mix is ajuga, creeping jenny, and some kind of low growing spreading sedum.
Grows on east side of house-only gets a brief amount of early morning sun.

Kind? Moss comes in kinds? Hmmmm. I have no idea.

But I was out with my camera today. My son's grapes looked like balloons to me.

Ups sorry was writting to fast, I meant freckled.
It is natural, maybe caused by a virus?

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

What kind of plant, if you don't mind my asking? For me the virus is the dreaded "typo" virus. : ) pod

Gram, that's a terrific link! Love that moss. So soft, and such a pretty color.

Zest, How cool it is that you though of the Texture thread while out for a walk with your camera! I do the same thing. See what you've done, Sanannie?

Dale,
I love the "soft" feeling of this foliage. I have never heard of Salgenella. Is it a shrub?
Hardy just in the south? Love the texture and color. Think I'll check the plant files.

Deanna,

It is a tropical moss (some are sub tropical). Not a common plant even here in the warmer parts of the USA. The one in my photo grows to about 12" most are not that tall.
