Buying peonies

Aurora, CO(Zone 5a)

I want to plant peonies this fall. Where is the best place to buy them? I went to PlantFiles and found some vendors, but some didn't have the ones I wanted available. One website plain didn't work when I tried to buy some peonies. And a couple others seemed considerably more expensive. What's a reasonable price for a good, healthy peony? I wanted to get Festiva Maxima and Bowl of Beauty.

Thanks.

Go to the Watchdog and search for peony vendors. There are several good ones out there. Klehm's, New Peony Farm, Peony Garden of Center Point Iowa, Hollingsworth Peonies, etc. Prices vary, but remember, you get what you pay for. If you want really cheap peony you can get them at the big box stores in the spring, but again, you get what you pay for and they may not be true to name.

I ordered the two I wanted from Big Dipper Farm for $14 a piece. They have a good rep on Watchdog. I also ordered some pink lily of the valley from them as well.

Solaris Farms has begun a peony program. Many varieties offered, but many sold out at this time too. The prices on some intersectional peonies are priced very low compared to many other places. I bought my first yellow peony! Bartzella. I've had my eye on her for YEARS!
The prices are better than many, in my opinion.

A peony co-op would have been nice
