Insect Info Please

Aulander, NC(Zone 7a)

This year my beautiful butterfly weed finally bloomed. Then it developed the pods. Now the pods are covered with the most colorful tiny BRIGHT orange-red insects.
Does anyone have any info on what these are? I've never seen them before and I'm wondering if they are an insect particular to this plant?

Picture would help a lot. Do they black bodies?

My butterfly weed is infested with these Milkweed bugs right now. I wish I knew more about them.

........and while I was looking at the milkweed bugs I found yellow aphids on another stem.
Good grief !!!!!

CoreHHI- No, they look like large ants with bright orange red bodies.

Sounds like squash bug nymphs to me....if there are bunches of them, all hanging out together, they most likely just hatched and are looking to 'stake out their territory'.

Smash 'em. Squish 'em.

Moretz- OK, great info. These are the ones. Thanks again. I wondered why they just appeared on the milkweed.

Horseshoe- Guess I'll follow your advice on them. Thanks.
