Fuzzy black mold

Alpine, TX(Zone 7b)

I was saving my corn cobs to grind up the next time I make a batch of compost, and they got wet and developed a lot of fuzzy black mold all over them. Would it still be all right to use them? The compost usually gets to be 150 degrees for a while. Don't want to put something in the soil that would grow on the plants!

The fuzzy black mold means the cobs started composting before they ever made it into the pile.... go ahead and put them in the pile...

Thank you, joepyeweed. I'm glad I don't have to throw them away because they're so nice and fluffy when ground up.
