Well, I made it over to the county fair for the dahlia show and judging. I had such a great time! I know alot of the members of the Southern Tier D. S. and they did the judging. So chit chat chit chat and I was invited to "apprentice" judge with one of the groups.
What an informative time I had and come to find out the vice_pres. lives around the corner from me and has 8 zillon dahlia's, glads and roses plus a greenhouse. He and his wife have been growing dahlia's for 40 years and I have an invitation to to vist and learn a few of his tricks. I'm babbling, sorry,,,,On with the photos

WOW, GREAT job on photog AND getting all the names RIGHT!! I have not been able to do THAT.
Nicely done Willow, some real eye catchers there.
Good networking there also it sounds like.
How big is that Gargantuan?
Thanks for the show Willow! I never get tired of looking at new dahlias and they have some wonderful ones there captured by your camera skills. Love that Camano Thunder.
You and I could be in big t-r-o-u-b-l-e as I learned yesterday that our new HR guy at work has "cut back to only 300" dahlias and was a former judge for the local PSDA. That isn't so bad, but when he said "perhaps we can do some trading" I felt kind of faint LOL. And here I was going to cut back! With your neighbor just around the corner, it spells doom for your hubby's veggie garden or your lawn.
Thanks for taking the time to post photos- much enjoyed!
Al, Gargantuan is an AA(050) and I have one growing in my garden.............
Thanks everyone!
This is my firsy year growing Rokewood Opal... great color!
Wohwwwww, a lot of beauties in that group. Why doesn't Iowa have more shows? Thanks for sharing willow.
