Like daughter like Mother

Brownfield, ME(Zone 4b)

I have been driving my family crazy talking and making them come and look at the new daylily blooms so I was so surprized when my 10 yr old daughter gave me this poem she wrote last night. She must have taken my list of daylilies {I have been so good keeping records this year}I would like to share:

My Favorite Daylily
By Jennie

I really like the Stella De Oro the star of the day,
But then Cleo is very pretty I must say

We also must think about the red daylily Cherry Wink
but we can't forget Luxury Lace who is a charming light
pink!

My favorite one could be the outstanding red eruption with her bright yellow eye
then there is charming Heart makes me so happy I could cry

I think they are all my favorites from bright red to creamy white
I will dream about all of them tonight!

A very nice poem and thanks for sharing. I know what you mean about wanting to show off the new blooms. Its great for daylily lovers, but I tend to scare off other friends of mine. I'm at that point in my life where my gardens are the first thing I look at in the morning (I deadhead over 200 varieties of daylillies every moring religiously) and the last thing I see at night. Isn't gardening great?

That's too Cute!! Sounds like you have a good little helper - Maybe even a future hybridizer?!

WOW, that's incredible for a ten year old. She's obviously observing more than you realize.
