Datura or Brug?

Can you tell if a plant is a dutura or a brug before they bloom? I know the difference in the way the flowers grow but I wonder if there is a difference in the foliage that can determine what is what. Is it an absolute that datura will not come back after freezing?

I hope you can see the leaves on this datura, they are different.
I have some Datura that comes back in the spring but mostly I get new ones from the seed they drop, the winter will not hurt the seeds so they come up fairly early next year.
