IE question - Icons from the web site not showing anymore

I must have changed a setting somewhere on IE, because I'm SURE I used to have the custom icons (from the web site) showing up and now all I get is the explorer icon for all web sites. The custom icons show on AOL Explorer, BUT AOL Explorer crashes all the time.

I looked at Internet Options and didn't see anything that sounded like 'use website icons' to me . .. does anyone know what setting I changed that changed this, or am I losing my mind and never had them on IE only on AOL Explorer?

here's a picture of what I'm talking about . . . the browser on top is IE, the one below is AOL Explorer
