I saw these guys a while back scouting out this corn plant, and they haven't left since. While not exactly garden foes as far as I can tell, its aweful strange. These little suckers look like they have placed their eggs on this plant and are using this corn plant as a tree fortress!! Pretty cool eh? I kid you not. Look at this!

Update:
Close inspection reveals tiny aqua colored bugs on the corn plant. And the ants appear to be tending the bugs. Very odd indeed.
Probably aphids...don't think I've seen aqua colored ones before but I've seen them in almost every other color! Ants love the honeydew that the aphids produce so they "farm" them.
