Is anybody else out there into texture? I've been paying more attention lately to the different textures of foliage, flowers, seedheads, etc.. Will you join me and post some pics too?
Do you have anything prickly, satiny, sharp, oily, velvety, spiky, smooth, bristly, rough, thick, soft, etc. etc. etc?

Dancey - right on, I always associate a dark red rose as being velvety!

saannie...does that geum triflorum need alot of sun? Great pictures.
levilyla,
I have the Geum triflorum in the rock garden because it likes very well drained soil, even a bit dry, and since it's a prairie flower it's a sun lover.

grampapa,
That tree makes me want to touch to see how smooth and cool it is. My Silver Mound ran away but I still remember how soft it was to pet! Thanks for playing.

sanannie...all your plants look perfect...no bugs, no mildew, no rust, Geeeeeez it makes me feel like I am doing everything wrong.
levilyla ..... well of course I have all those things, but I just don't photograph that part, silly! lol

fun thread....
I concur, very fun thread Sandy! I love that Filipendula rubra Sandy. Reminds me of the soft pink sweater I used to have.
True about the artemisia grampapa.... I pet mine to and also run my bare foot across mine lightly. Soooo nice.
I think I'll hunt for some texture in my garden tonight (if I ever get to leave work).
Erynne
Happy texture hunting, Erynne!

Sandy~Great pics! You are a grand photographer and an esteemed gardener, I always enjoy seeing your place. What is the plant in the background of the geum, it sets it off so nicely?
Wow, and right back at ya, PG! It's a Barberry 'Royal Burgundy'.
