Is this a friend or foe?

This bug and his buddies were flying around my daylily bed - I caught one on a petal but he didn't seem to be eating anything. Some sort o' beetle with a shiny greenish back.

Y'know. Let me get back to you on that. That is the only site where the photo looks like your beetle. All the others are different, so somebody is wrong!

Looks like a Green June Beetle, but its antennae are wrong.

I just read that those "fingers" on the antennae can be held tightly together - that would make it look like the antennae in the pictures of a Green June Beetle....Whew!!!

ceejaytown, thanks so much - since we don't raise any fruit I think damage would be minimal. I hate to spray the dozen or so that were here because there is also lady bugs and praying mantis in the same bed.
